Inside Line Promotions – SWEDESBORO, N.J. (July 13, 2014) – Alex Bright certainly knows how to send a car owner out on the right note.

Bright charged from 16th to record a wingless micro sprint victory last Wednesday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa., during the final race for Rich Glosser Racing.

“He said if I’m going to quit lets go out with a bang,” Bright said. “It was awesome. To go out and have a win like that, especially from 16th, I don’t think he could have been any happier. It felt good to win for him.”

The team fought a fuel pump issue during the heat race, which dropped Bright from the pole position to a fourth-place result. However, that was enough to lock him into the 16th starting spot for the main event.

“Turns one and two were good, but there was a rut going into turns three and four,” he said. “It ended up forming a cushion that a lot of people ended up wrecking on. Starting that far back I knew I had to get up there somehow. On the first lap I went above the cushion in both turns. I was up to 10th in the first couple of laps.”

Bright then advanced into the top five with approximately 10 laps remaining before he capitalized on a wild moment to maneuver into the runner-up spot.

“I guess the second-place driver messed up and it bottled everything up,” he said. “The next thing I know I was in second place within two laps. I don’t even know how it happened. That’s when I realized I had something for the win. I think I took the lead with about five laps to go. I got a good run coming off turn two and set him up with a big slide job going into turns three and four.”

The victory was the fifth of the year for Bright, who decided to add another on Saturday at Bridgeport Speedway with the ARDC Midgets.

Bright finished third in his heat race after driving off the track while leading. The result was good enough to advance him into the feature redraw, where Bright drew the pole position.

“In the feature I just ran the bottom at the start,” he said. “I wasn’t sure if the top would be better or not.”

It was and Bright was passed for the lead on Lap 7.

“He was running a little higher than I was so, so I started running that line,” he said. “And then I started pushing the edge and running higher. We got into lapped traffic and he stayed low. I went blasting around the outside of him.”

Bright regained the lead on Lap 14 and cruised to his second ARDC victory of the season and his sixth triumph overall.

“We had two wins this week and that’s pretty awesome,” he said. “I’m going to see if we can keep the ball rolling and pick up another two this week.”

Bright will return to Action Track USA this Wednesday and he will compete next Sunday at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, Pa., with the ARDC Midgets.
