Inside Line Promotions – LIMA, Ohio (July 8, 2014) – Kevin Swindell has a big week on tap.
Driving for Bernie Stuebgen and the Indy Race Parts team, Swindell will make his debut at Limaland Motorsports Park on Wednesday for the 26th annual Brad Doty Classic with the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
“This may be my first time ever there,” he said. “Anywhere that gets slick I tend to enjoy and I think Lima has that.”
The team will then tackle Eldora Speedway near Rossburg, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday for the 31st annual Kings Royal. The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event pays $50,000 to win on the final night.
“The biggest thing is getting qualified well,” he said. “You have to draw a decent number. If you don’t qualify in the first three or four you have to figure out a way to win the heat race. It’s all about starting up there. It’s such a competitive series now and so many guys are so good.”
Swindell did just that last October en route to capturing his first career victory at Eldora Speedway during an NRA event.
“That was cool for me,” he said. “That’s somewhere I definitely wanted to win.”
Swindell and Stuebgen also earned a sixth-place result last month in their lone visit to Eldora Speedway during the All Star Circuit of Champions Ohio Speedweek.
“I think we’ll be good,” Swindell said. “We’ve been good at times here and there. Hopefully everything goes right, the motors run good and we have a good weekend.”
