[b One to Remember: Victory in Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park Extra Special for World of Outlaws Drivers]

Jac Haudenschild, Jason Meyers and Joey Saldana have won a lot of races in their careers with the World of Outlaws and while some wins get lost or even forgotten in the shuffle over time, each of them will always remember their victory in the Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic at Limaland Motorsports Park in Ohio.
The annual event moved to the pristine ¼-mile bullring owned and operated by the University of Northwestern Ohio in 2006 with Saldana picking up the win in that race. Haudenschild was victorious the following season and last year it was Meyers winning a thriller on the last lap, passing 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser coming off the fourth turn.
For the fourth consecutive season the event will be held at Limaland Motorsports Park, as the World of Outlaws invade the track on Wednesday, July 15 for a full night of racing. This will be the 21st Annual Ohio Logistics Brad Doty Classic, and the Hall of Famer driver will again help promote the event this season.
Haudenschild led all 40 lap in his win in the event back in 2007, using a strong start to take the lead heading into turn two from Steve Kinser who started on the pole. Ironically, Haudenschild and Kinser are the only two active full-time drivers competing with the World of Outlaws that raced against Doty and all three are members of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.
Haudenschild has four career wins at Limaland Motorsports Park, including in his debut at the track in his home state back in 1979. He has eight Top-10 finishes in 10 career starts at the bullring.
“This is a special win,” said Haudenschild, after winning the race in 2007. “Brad (Doty) raced tough back when he ran with the Outlaws. He was always a good competitor and we had a lot of good times on the road together.”
Saldana also led all 40 laps when he was victorious in the event in 2006. He began that night by setting fast time with a very stout 44-car field in attendance. Of all the drivers competing full-time with the World of Outlaws this season, Saldana has made the most starts at Limaland Motorsports Park over the years. Prior to winning the Brad Doty Classic in 2006, Saldana had competed in the event a number of times when it was held at Attica Raceway Park.
Saldana has three career wins at Limaland Motorsports Park along with 10 Top-10 finishes. He raced for the first time at the track back in 1992.
“He was a heck of a race car driver,” said Saldana of Doty after winning the race in 2006. “I had been trying to do this for a while when it was with the All Stars. I have come really close and we got it done tonight. He’s an awesome guy to win a race for out there.”
Jason Meyers started second in the event last season and took the lead at the start and would pace the field for the first 18 laps before Saldana got around him. Saldana would lead the next 16 circuits, before Steve Kinser took the top spot from him with just five laps remaining.
As the leaders took the white flag, Kinser had a few car length lead over Meyers and looked to have the race in check, until he was caught up by some lapped cars. This gave Meyers the opening he needed which he took full advantage of coming off of turn, to lead the last few feet of the 40-lap contest to pick up one of the most special wins of his career.
The California native has made just two starts in his career at Limaland Motorsports Park, finishing third in the other one in 2007.
“It means a lot to me,” Meyers said last season after his win. “I have gotten to know Brad over the years and he is a great individual. He is a great all around person, not just for the sport, but as a guy to know. To put our name on that list is very special and something I will always cherish.”
Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws champion, also is a past winner of the Brad Doty Classic, picking up that victory in 1989 in the second edition of the race when it was held at Attica Raceway Park. He was victorious over Dave Blaney in that race. The native of Bloomington, Indiana has three career wins at Limaland Motorsports Park and is the only driver to win more than once with the World of Outlaws at the track. He has finished first or second in six of his seven career starts at the track.
The Ohio Logistics 21st Annual Brad Doty Classic will kick off with an autograph session featuring Brad Doty, defending race winner Jason Meyers, 2007 winner Jac Haudenschild, 2006 victor Joey Saldana and third generation driver Kraig Kinser at 4:15 p.m. Eastern under the pavilion near the pond at Limaland Motorsports Park. The grandstand gates will open for the fans at 4 p.m. Eastern, with time trials set for 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
On Wednesday, July 15 at Limaland Motorsports Park, adult general admission tickets will be $27, with general admission tickets for those ages 11-15 just $15 and kids 10-under will be admitted free of charge.
