Bristol, WI – July 3, 2014. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team had on Outlaw triple-header last weekend that began in West Burlington, IA at the 34 Raceway. Last year the team struggled not even making the show, but this year the team was looking for redemption. The night started out with a 4th place qualifying effort of the thirty-four cars on hand setting him up with a 4th place starting position in the heat race. A 5th place finish in the heat race sent the 17B sprinter into the dash with a 5th place starting position where he would also finish setting Bill to start the thirty-five lap feature in the 5th spot. Bill would lose ground in the feature falling back to 11th. The red flag would fly about two-thirds of the way through giving Bill and the crew a chance to adjust the car. When the green came back out Bill began to make his way forward. With the laps winding down he would make his way around Brian Brown into the 3rd position right behind 2nd place Terry McCarl. When checker flag flew, Bill would make his way to the front stretch for interviews as he would finish in the 3rd position behind Donny Schatz and McCarl.
The team headed to familiar territory on Saturday as they made their way to the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI. The night started off strong again as Bill would lay down the 4th fastest time of the twenty-four cars on hand. Bill would slip back to finish 5th from his 3rd starting position in the heat race, but for the second night in a row would also qualify for the dash. The pill draw set Bill up with the pole starting position in the dash in which he would dominate setting him up with the pole position again for the forty lap feature. Bill would lead the first thirteen laps until Cody Darrah would slip by until caution would fly. On the restart, Bill would slide under Darrah in turns one and two and take the lead back and pull away slightly. On lap twenty-four, Brad Sweet would slide up in front of Bill in turns one and two overtaking the lead. Bill would start to fall back as the handling on the car began to fade and finish in the 9th position.
On the final night, Bill and the B2 Motorsports team headed to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI. On a quickly fading track, Bill would muster a 15th place qualifying effort of the twenty-eight cars on hand. Bill would start 5th in the heat race and finish in the same position transferring him into the feature. Lining up in the 15th starting position, Bill would make his way as high as 11th, but in the end would slip back to finish in the 16th position ending the three night race weekend.
Tonight, Bill will head to Des Moines, IA as he will be aboard the Jim Davies #99 360 sprinter at the Iowa State Fair Speedway to take on the Sprint Invader Series. On Saturday and Sunday, July 5th and 6th, Bill will return to Sun Prairie, WI to the Angell Park Speedway for the USAC/POWRi/Badger midgets sanctioned Pepsi Nationals aboard the Lein Acres #2 midget. Bill finished 9th a few weeks ago aboard the Toyota powered machine also picking up a heat race victory.
The following weekend, the 17B sprinter will be back on the track at the Dodge County Fairgrounds in Beaver Dam, WI on Friday, July 11th and at the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, WI on Saturday, July 12th with the Interstate Racing Association.
