Inside Line Promotions – KNOXVILLE, Iowa (June 23, 2014) – Danny Lasoski captured his ninth top five of the season last Saturday at Knoxville Raceway.
Lasoski, the winningest driver in the history of the famed half-mile oval, opened the event by qualifying fifth quickest. He then advanced from fifth to fourth place in his heat race to lock himself into the 25-lap main event.
With the top-eight qualifiers who advanced through their heat race being inverted in the feature, Lasoski started the main event on the outside of the second row.
After falling to sixth on the opening lap, he rallied into third place by the midpoint of the feature. Lasoski was in third when he took the white flag before being caught behind a slower car on the bottom.
“It was completely driver error,” he said. “I just messed up. Every time you make a mistake it can ruin your whole day. (Brian) Brown did what he had to do to drive around the outside of me.”
Lasoski was credited with a fourth-place result after losing the final podium position on the last lap.
He is slated to return to action this weekend with Mark Burch Motorsports. The team has garnered a win and four top fives in seven races this season.
