Bristol, WI – June 18, 2014. Mother Nature finally cooperated this past weekend as Bill Balog and the B2 Motorsports team were back in action at the newly re-configured third-mile bullring of the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, WI. Bill would go out late in qualifying laying down the 4th fastest lap of the twenty-eight cars on hand setting up the 17B sprinter with a 5th place starting position in heat race #1. At the drop of the green, 3rd through 6th place would be in a tight battle with Bill running as high as 3rd at one point and as low as 6th in the ten lap contest. Bill would make a last lap charge on the final lap and slide his way into the 4th position transferring him into the feature. The #2 pill was drawn for the feature invert setting Bill up with an outside front row starting spot next to Phillip Mock. Bill would pull out to a sizable lead and catch lap traffic within three laps. Bill would lap cars at will increasing his lead each lap. About half way in the feature Mock would begin to make up ground on Bill as he was dealing with heavy lap traffic until a lap twenty-four red flag period. Once the track was cleared and racing resumed, Bill once again pull out to a healthy lead and brought the 17B sprinter to the checkered flag first over Mock and Jordan Goldesberry for his third straight win of 2014 and at the Plymouth bullring.
This weekend the team has a full plate of racing in the state of Wisconsin. The weekend kicks off in Oshkosh, WI at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway on Friday, June 20th for the IRA’s second visit of 2014 at the third-mile oval. Bill ran 5th back in May with Craig Dollansky picking up the win. Saturday, June 21st, the team will head to the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI for their third visit of 2014 to the third-mile oval. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team were victorious in their last visit over the Memorial Day weekend where the 3-race win streak began. Sunday night, Bill will pilot the Lein Acres #2 midget in the Badger Midgets portion of the show at the Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI. The B2 Motorsports team is also kicking around the idea of taking the wings off of the 17B sprinter and running with the stars of the United States Auto Club in the non-wing portion of the program. Stay tuned on the Facebook page for updates.
The following weekend, the World of Outlaws make their way through Wisconsin as they make their way to the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI on Saturday, June 28th and to the Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI on Sunday, June 29th.
