Inside Line Promotions – WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (May 27, 2014) – Despite a long trip from home to compete at a trio of race tracks she’d never been to, Jordan Weaver had one of her best weekends of the season.

Weaver recorded her first heat race win of the year and she nearly earned her first top five before a flat tire with a couple of laps remaining hampered the finish last Sunday at 34 Raceway with the Sprint Invaders.

“The car, me and everything right now is clicking pretty good,” she said. “We’re doing a lot better. We’ve got some setups we can work with right now. I know that whenever I go out for a race the car is going to be right. I just have to be better in traffic right now.”

Weaver opened last weekend with her inaugural visit to Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., for an ASCS Midwest Region event. She maneuvered from eighth to sixth place in her heat race to lock into the main event, which Weaver started on the inside of the seventh row.

“We were running pretty good,” she said. “It was one lane, but I made a few mistakes and I wasn’t on the top as high up as I should have been. We had a caution with five or six laps to go and my glasses fogged up real bad and I couldn’t see. Other than that we logged some laps and had a good finish.”

Weaver ended with a 14th-place result.

On Saturday, the team hauled to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, for her debut.

“That track is definitely different than anything I’ve ever run on,” she said. “You’ve got to make laps at that track to get comfortable there. The more I was on the track the better I got.”

After qualifying 23rd and advancing from eighth to seventh place in her heat race, Weaver capped the night with an 18th-place result in the main event.

The weekend concluded on Sunday at 34 Raceway, where Weaver claimed her first heat race of the season. That also locked her into the dash, which she finished sixth in to start the main event on the outside of the third row.

“The car was really good,” she said. “I made a few mistakes after some cautions. I went to the bottom and I got passed on the top, so I’m still learning.”

Weaver was in contention for her first top five of the season when a flat tire stopped her in the closing laps.

“The bleeder broke and it just leaked all the air out,” she said.

Weaver was credited with a 15th-place finish.

She is set to make her 305ci season debut this Saturday at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo, Texas.
