Inside Line Promotions – GREENWOOD, Neb. (May 26, 2014) – Tony Bruce Jr. returned to Victory Lane last Saturday with a special performance.

Bruce Jr. led all 30 laps of the Nebraska 360 Sprints main event at Butler County Speedway in Rising City, Neb., to capture his second win of the season. This time it was at the home track of crew member Austin Bradley.

“I was able to get the jump on the start and get up front and never look back,” Bruce Jr. said. “Austin Bradley’s family lives five miles from the race track. It was a special moment. It means so much to win in front of your hometown crowd.”

The One 8 Motorsports team opened the night by winning a heat race from the pole position, which earned a spot in the feature redraw. The No. 2 was then pulled in the random draw to start Bruce Jr. on the outside of the front row for the main event.

“Any time you run good you want to build off of it,” he said. “I definitely think we’re headed in the right direction. Some of our past performances were more circumstances of track conditions. I think we have really fast cars and really fast motors.”

Bruce Jr. continued to showcase his speed on Sunday with the Nebraska 360 Sprints at I-80 Speedway, where he rallied from seventh to third place in a heat race.

“I had to start last in the heat race and was able to make it to third,” he said. “That got us in the redraw. The car was really good all night long. The only thing we changed from the heat race to the A Main was the left rear tire.”

Bruce Jr. plucked the No. 7 in the random redraw to start the main event on the inside of the fourth row. He spent the majority of the feature battling for a top five before ending with a fifth-place result.

“We just didn’t have quite the speed the other guys in front of us had,” he said. “You have to be on top of it when you race with guys like Jack Dover and Danny Lasoski (who finished first and second).”

It was a solid ending after the weekend tripleheader began with a rough start on Friday at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Neb., with the ASCS Midwest Region.

“In the heat race the track was pretty wet and we weren’t able to make it through there,” said Bruce Jr., who finished where he started – fifth.

After placing second in the B Main, Bruce Jr. rallied from 16th to an eighth-place result. It also earned him the Hard Charger Award.

“They had a lot of rain in the area, so it was tough to pass,” he said. “We still were able to make it through there and salvage a top-10 run out of it.”

Bruce Jr. would also like to thank a trio of Nebraska sponsors who helped the team make the trip.

“I can’t thank Rasmussen Seed (in Surprise), Wojo Painting (in Eagle) and Pump and Munch (in Rising City) enough for their support,” he said. “I’m glad we could have a successful weekend.”

Bruce Jr. will return to Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour action this Friday at Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan., and this Saturday at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb., for the Hinchman Racewear Eagle Nationals, which is a TBJ Promotions event.
