T.J. Buffenbarger, TULSA, Okla. (July 6, 2009) – The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP makes the first of two appearances at Owendale Speedway on Saturday. The event marks Owendale’s annual Super Race Day featuring an earlier start time, beer and brat tent, and extra prizes and giveaways for race fans.
Gregg Dalman brings his ten point lead to Super Race Day over Brett Mann, who is the defending event winner at Owendale. Saturday’s race is also the third round of the MAHLE/Clevite Short Track Challenge.
Support division preliminaries start at 4:00 p.m. with the Sprints on Dirt taking to the track for practice at 6:00. Racing will begin at 7:30.
The Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP is in its 30th season of competition. Twenty-two point paying races are on the calendar with three special non-point races making up the 25 event schedule contested throughout Michigan, Ohio, and into Canada.
The American Sprint Car Series, in its 18th year of sanctioning Sprint Car racing events, brings the best of Sprint Car racing to nearly 100 different tracks throughout 25 states and Canada in 2009. Anchored by the Lucas Oil ASCS Sprint Car Dirt Series presented by K&N Filters, ASCS also consists of a dozen different Regions throughout the nation.
