Inside Line Promotions – RISING CITY, Neb. (May 13, 2014) – It was like riding a bike for Jack Dover.
During his first race in a 305ci sprint car since 2005, Dover picked up where he left off by leading the entire main event last Friday at Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, driving for Dan Satriano.
“The only way I knew I’d win the feature was to get underneath the polesitter on the start,” Dover said. “I did and protected the bottom the whole race. You could run the top, but the bottom had so much moisture that was where the fast line was.”
After advancing from third to second place in his heat race, Dover started the main event on the inside of the second row. He powered to the lead on the start and led all 12 laps to pick up the first victory for the Satriano’s in their sprint car.
“They were really excited,” Dover said. “I think we raced go-karts 10 or 12 years ago and that was the last time they won a race. I can’t thank them enough for the opportunity to drive and I’m glad we could deliver a win.”
Dover continued his winning ways on Saturday during Nebraska 360 Sprints action at Butler County Speedway.
Dover won his heat race from the outside of the front row, which locked him into the dash. As the driver with the fastest lap during heat race action, Dover started the main event on the pole.
“The track was super slick,” he said. “It was throwing dust in hot laps so I knew it was going to be a slick night. I just set up the car really tight. It would have been nice to win that $250 in the dash, but I wanted to start on the outside of the feature so I could be in the moisture and have a better start.”
Dover finished second in the dash to line himself up on the outside of the front row for the 30-lap feature.
“The polesitter beat us on the start, but we were leading going into turn one,” he said. “I think starting on the top and having the run going into turn one definitely helped.”
Dover led the entire race to garner his third consecutive win during the past two weekends.
“I’d say the confidence is way up right now and the whole racing operation is up,” he said. “It was a good weekend. I’m just hoping the winning streak keeps continuing.”
