Outlaws at Wilmot Raceway on Tap!!

Bristol, WI – May 5, 2014. Bill and the B2 Motorsports team headed to the Sprint Car Capital of the World, the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA this past Saturday. Thirty-three cars were on hand in what is said to be the toughest weekly competition at the half-mile speed plant in many years. Bill would guide the 17B sprinter to the 11th quickest time of the thirty-three competitors lining him up with a 4th place starting position in the 3rd heat race. Bill would hold his own in the beginning of the heat race, but began to fade with a loose racecar sending him into the B-Main. Lining up on the outside front row of the B-Main, Bill shot out to a healthy lead, but on lap six felt something odd in the front end and changed his line and went from the top of the track to the bottom trying to hold on to a transfer position to make it into the A-Main and time to try and diagnose what the issue was. Unfortunately, on lap eight a steering arm stud broke sending Bill into a spin to the infield coming out of turn four ending the teams night.

The team made the trip back to Wisconsin overnight and maintained the car for Sunday night’s action at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway with the Interstate Racing Association. Bill would top the time trial charts for the second time this season setting him up with a 6th place starting position in the first heat race. At the drop of the green Bill made his way into the 4th position where he would finish transferring into the feature. Bill would draw a #4 pill for the feature invert lining the 17B sprinter up in the 8th place starting position. At the drop of the green, Bill would fall back as the car was lacking forward bite. A few strong moves around the outside in turns one and two got Bill back up to where he started and then moved his line tight around the bottom to pick up some more positions moving into the 4th position. Late in the race Bill lost brakes in the racecar to where he moved up the track as he was unable to hug the bottom any longer losing one position to finish in the 5th position.

This week Bill and the B2 Motorsports team will be gearing up to take on the World of Outlaws for the first time in 2014 as they are set to invade the Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, WI on Friday, May 9th. Bill picked up 2 – features with the Interstate Racing Association last year at the third-mile clay oval. On Saturday, May 10th, the team will head back to the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, IA for another weekly show. Saturday, May 17th the team will head back for the 2nd visit of the year at the Beaver Dam Raceway in Beaver Dam, WI. Bill came home with a 4th place finish at the third-mile, high banked oval just over two weeks ago.
