Blake Hahn Posts Top 15 Finishes with Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour

SAPULPA, Okla. (May 5, 2014) - As Blake Hahn put it, "It was a good weekend, just not like we wanted," with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, as the driver of the Old School Racing No. 17 posted a fourteenth place finish at the Outlaw Motorsports Park on Friday, May 2 and a twelfth on Saturday, May 3 at the Riverside International Speedway.

Talking about Friday night, Hahn explained that they tried a new setup, but found the car lacking during the A-Feature, "We tried something for the feature since we were starting sixth row that ended up not being the greatest. I rolled the bottom for a while then went to the top and the car got a little bit better but I just kinda stayed where I was and maintained."

On to the Eagle Motorsports Rock 'N Roll 50 on Saturday night, Hahn drew deep in the field, putting him at the tail of the first Heat Race. Advancing from ninth to sixth wasn't enough to get out of running the B-Feature, where Hahn garnered the final transfer spot.

"I had a good car all night, just couldn't make anything happen in the A-Feature. I got lapped early and everyone was just railing the top as hard as they could so it made it hard to pass unless you could get the run and slide. It was a fun race though. The top was a little rough so you did have to cowboy up."

Despite having difficulty passing, Hahn was still able to advance for his twenty-second starting spot.

Hahn is scheduled to compete next at the Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. on Thursday, May 8 and Creek County Speedway with the ASCS Sooner Region on Friday, May 9. "I've never been there [Lakeside], but I heard it a real fast joint and high banked," commented Blake on making his first trip to the Kansas oval.

Asked about any changes to the car going to the half-mile, Hahn chuckled, "No, but I know we won't try what we did Friday night at Outlaw."

Hahn is no stranger to the Creek County Speedway, a track built by his Grandfather, Emmett Hahn, in 1986.
