Dills Excited for Wingless Sprint Car Debut at Cottage Grove This Saturday

Inside Line Promotions – COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (April 30, 2014) – After last weekend’s competition at Cottage Grove Speedway was washed out, Patrick Dills is hoping the weather holds off this Saturday.

Dills is set to make his wingless sprint car debut at the quarter-mile track with the Northwest Wingless Tour.

“I expect wingless to be more similar to the way you would drive a kart with how to get into the corner and just the way you drive it in general,” he said.

Dills said he has watched plenty of videos online about wingless racing and has sought out advice from several drivers.

“I have talked to some nonwing drivers in California and up here to try to get some points,” he said. “I’ve also watched a ton of in-car camera views and have tried to pay attention to the steering wheel and what they do. I listened to the engine as they enter the corner as well.”

Weather permitting, Saturday will mark Dills’ second career sprint car race. He scored a seventh-place result during his inaugural race on April 19 at Cottage Grove Speedway.
