Destiny Motorsports and Haudenschild 12th at Weikert Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA: Mother Nature shortened Destiny Motorsports and Jac Haudenschild’s weekend in Pennsylvania by way of a Friday night rainout at Williams Grove, but Saturday night all things were a go, and The Wild Child netted a 12th place finish at the Port Royal Speedway for the Bob Weikert Memorial.

With 36 cars on hand for the marquee event, Haudenschild timed the MonDak Portables/Benic Enterprises/Rick Rogers Construction backed machine in 13th fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race.

Battling with Logan Wagner and Dale Blaney on the fairly slick surface, the Wooster, OH driver would score a third place finish, and transfer to the 29-lap feature event, where he gridded the field in the ninth spot.

The start of the race was nearly disastrous for Haudenschild and his Renegade Rentals/Champion Lubricants/Boss Sign and Graphics Machine as he narrowly escaped a wreck, but lost several positions.

As he got his machine gathered back up, Haudenschild tip-toed around the slick surface as he slowly worked his way back up towards the Top-10.

On a track that was extremely slick, Haudenschild worked his way back into the 12thth spot as the battle within the five-car pack was extremely close.

As the race closed out, Haudenschild crossed the stripe with a 12th place finish.

“We are slowly getting better,” Haudenschild said. “Everyone is working hard, and hopefully we can reward ourselves next week at Eldora.”

Destiny Motorsports would like to thank MonDak Portables, Benic Enterprises, Rick Rogers Construction, Renegade Rentals, Triple X Race Components, Boss Signs and Graphics, Driver Websites, Petersen Media, Tony Stewart Racing, GME Manufacturing, ButlerBuilt, Simpson Race Products, Kistler Engines, Keizer Wheels, DMI, Red Devil Brakes, Champion Oil, and Hoosier Tire for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Jac Haudenschild and the Destiny Motorsports team will now head to one of Haudenschild’s favorite tracks, Eldora Speedway this Friday and Saturday night with the World of Outlaws.
