Inside Line Promotions – LUBBOCK, Texas (April 21, 2014) – Graves Motorsports returns to action this weekend at a pair of Texas tracks with the ASCS Lone Star Region.
Driver Kolt Walker will pilot the car on Friday at Lubbock Speedway in Lubbock and Saturday at Abilene Speedway in Abilene. In a trio of races at the tracks last season, Walker finished in the top six at all three races.
“It’s a nice track, but it’s like a modified track,” Walker said of Lubbock Speedway. “It’s hard and slick. As far as a facility and the shape of the track, it’s a really nice place.”
Walker rallied from the back to a fifth-place finish during his lone race at the track last season.
“We started deep in the field,” he said. “We threw some pretty extreme stuff at it. We were actually really good.”
Walker also placed third and sixth at Abilene Speedway last year.
“The last time we were there it was pretty racy,” he said. “Early in the year we had to go to the back for something and we raced it back to sixth. The last time we ran there we finished third.”
Walker enters the weekend ranked sixth in the ASCS Lone Star Region championship standings.
“My goal is to be on point both nights,” he said. “Of course we’re there for the win. You just have to really focus and get those valuable points. Just go in, be smooth and try to come out with a top three both nights if not the win.”
