Inside Line Promotions – NEWBERRYTOWN, Pa. (April 13, 2014) – Trey Starks is quickly infiltrating the famed Pennsylvania Posse.

Starks recorded a top 10 for the third straight weekend that he has been competing in Central Pennsylvania and he capped this weekend with his first career top-five result in ‘The Keystone State.’

“I know we’ve got really good equipment and the guys out here helping are phenomenal,” he said. “They all know what the tracks are like and what they are doing. If I can stay on my game, the car is giving me a great opportunity. I’ve been able to capitalize on it.”

After Friday’s race at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., was rained out for the second straight week, Starks opened last weekend on Saturday at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pa.

“We just struggled all night,” he said. “We went to a different car. A couple of combinations we had in the car just really didn’t work.”

Starks finished where he started – ninth – in his heat race, which lined him up eighth in a B Main. Starks advanced to capture the sixth-and-final transfer in the consolation to start him last in the main event.

“We put the car basically upside down for the main,” he said. “We kinda got it to work, but it was such a slick track it was hard to pick up spots. We were just behind the car all night.”

Starks rallied from 24th to place 15th.

On Sunday, the team headed to Susquehanna Speedway Park for Starks’ debut at the track.

“We were just really good in the heat,” he said. “We could pretty much pass wherever we wanted on the race track. We could run guys down in turns one and two and slide them in turns three and four.”

Starks charged from ninth to a fourth-place finish in his heat race, which lined him up on the outside of the fifth row for the main event.

“The main got a little more slick and started to take rubber in some spots,” he said. “For the first part of the main we were running on the top. Then we had really good restarts. We’d pick off a car or two pretty much every restart.”

Starks powered to a fourth-place finish, which was his second top five of the season and first ever in Pennsylvania.

“We were within one or two laps of getting Lance Dewease for third,” he said. “Our car kept coming to us.”

Starks is scheduled to race at Williams Grove Speedway this Friday and at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday.
