Inside Line Promotions – TUCSON, Ariz. (March 11, 2014) – Danny Lasoski is in rebuild mode after a rough trip to the West.

“The trailer is in the shop and I have to rebuild a new sprint car,” he said. “We’ll keep our heads up. We’re going to rebuild and try to get ready for Devil’s Bowl.”

Lasoski will take this weekend off before he hopes to return March 21-22 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

After running into multiple wiring issues in his trailer during the journey west at the end of February, Lasoski capped his trip with a wild crash at Tucson International Raceway last Saturday during the dash of the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series event.

“When we came down the backstretch it was like someone had blown 150-mile-per-hour wind at us,” he said. “It lifted up the car and I was along for the ride. I crashed into Brian Brown and Daryn Pittman into me.”

Not only did the wreck severely damage Lasoski’s race car, it ruined a promising night. He had qualified second quickest and finished third in his heat race to advance to the dash. After a four-car inversion, Lasoski started the six-lap race on the inside of the second row.

“Our car was rolling really good,” he said. “On the first start I got by Brad Sweet and the caution came out.”

Wind gusts plagued the drivers on the restart and it ended with damage to Lasoski’s frame as well as ruining the rear end, steering and wings to name a few parts. Lasoski started the main event eighth, but pulled off early and he was credited with a 23rd-place result.

“My guys fixed it enough so I could make a lap,” he said. “I just made a lap or two and pulled off. It was a disaster.”

Bad luck also plagued Lasoski during the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series doubleheader at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas in Las Vegas last Wednesday and Thursday.

Lasoski qualified 10th and 15th quickest, respectively, and he claimed his heat race both nights to advance to the dash. After ending seventh in the dash on Wednesday, Lasoski blew a tire and finished 23rd in the main event.

On Thursday, he placed 10th in the dash and held on for a 13th-place result in the feature despite a broken spark plug.
