Steve Caunt and the team came back to sydney after a 6 week hiatus from driving and hosting Jason Meyers to make the A Main directly.
Starting out was time trials where with a crashed competitor in hotlaps stopping any warm up runs time trials was Steves first fast laps for some time. A position 23 from 40 cars was ok and this gained some valuable points for the night.
Heat 1 on a really slick track straights with hooked up corners A different format the times posted selected the 3 heat groups then a pill draw for position. A P3 start was great but a bad start by Steve seen him shuffle back. On a restart from P6 Steve got a jump and got to the lead, to be relagated to P7 after the heat by the Stewards.
Heat 2 seen a P10 start position, with some great passing and racing a P5 finish position.
The A Main was on a very tricky wide racey track and the KPC running Kahne shocks was a great car and was able to run the top and bottom. A start position of 18 and a Finish of 13 was a satisfying start to a new chassis setup and shock package.
The A Main was cut short 4 laps due to time curfew which was unfortunate as the 9 Kpc was on a roll passing a bunch of cars late in the feature.
We understand the curfew and agree the rules must be followed.
It was great to see 600 Micros and 250 Micros racing. This is close to Steve's heart as both Divisions he started out his Speedway Career in.
Many Thanks must go to the supporters and fans and Crew for a hassle free Night.
