McHenry, IL 1/24/14 30 RACES AT FIFTEEN TRACKS FOR IRA SPRINTS IN 2014
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series proudly announce a 30 race slate for the winged 410's, which will be contested at 15 venues in 2014. 29 of the 30 dates will be held in Wisconsin, with Illinois hosting 1. "We're really fortunate to have so much interest from the tracks which are relatively close for most of our core teams", stated series President Steve Sinclair. "We definitely hit all the Wisconsin markets, and racing at 15 tracks certainly still gives us the travel feel." 13 of the 15 tracks appearing on the 2014 schedule hosted events in 2013. Seymour Speedway is back on after a few year absence, and the most highly publicized addition will be Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. IRA hasn't competed at Angell Park since 1985, but planned changes to the configuration should make the historic Midget venue more big car friendly. IRA and the Badger Midgets will share the event card on both Angell Park appearances.
Of course the Beaver Dam and Wilmot Raceway's will play a major role as each will host 5 dates including the Jim Wipperfurth Memorial at BDR, and the Kenosha Co Fair doubleheader at Wilmot. Sheboygan County Fair Park's Plymouth Dirt Track will host 3 shows, all of which, including the Sheboygan County Fair date, will be shared with the PDTR/MSA 360 Sprints. Angell Park, Cedar Lake, Dodge Co, Oshkosh, and 141 will each have 2 events, while single visits will be contested at ABC, Amsoil, Eagle Valley, Langlade, LaSalle, Rice Lake, and Seymour.
"This schedule is even a little more friendly than last year's. A few off weekends plus less work days, though we still have some double and triple header weekends. We even made the banquet location better and less expensive", said Sinclair who added, "We're blessed to have the support of so many good tracks, plus a tremendously loyal staff and core group of racers. 2014 should be another banner year for IRA".
The Bumper to Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will again play host to the UNOH All-Star Circuit of Champions (Wilmot), and the MOWA presented by Casey's General Store Series (LaSalle) in co-sanctioned events. As per tradition, the IRA stays dark when the World of Outlaws are at IRA host tracks, allowing teams the opportunity to compete if they wish. These dates include Wilmot May 9th, Beaver Dam June 28th, and Cedar Lake June 29th.
IRA proudly moves into 2014 backed by its' long time supporting series partners, led by title sponsor Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts & Service Centers, and associate series partners Osborn & Son Trucking, TW Metals, Hoosier Tire, Cummins Onan, and Carriage Auto Body.
Action goes green on April 19th at Oshkosh, and the final checkered waves September 27th at Dodge Co.
