Northeast and Southeast Honda USAC .25 Midget participants will compete for 2014 championships in events announced today.
A series of three events will comprise the Northeast Regional Series, beginning with the June 27-29 races at New York State Fairgrounds organized by the Syracuse Quarter Midget Club. The August 1-3 events will be at Fulton, N.Y. under the auspices of the Oswego County Quarter Midget Club and the August 23-25 finale will be at "Little T," located in Thompson, Conn.
Eligibility for year-end class awards to be distributed at the "USAC Developmental Showcase of Champions" in Indianapolis, Ind. will require participation in all three events.
The "Dixie Shootout Series" will comprise seven races at five venues between April and November. In order to qualify for year-end awards and championships, participants must compete at four of the five venues and the best five finishes will be used to determine class points.
The North Georgia Quarter Midget Association will host April 26 and July 26 events at Cumming, GA, the North Carolina Quarter Midget Association hosts the May 24 race at Salisbury, NC, the Metro Atlanta Quarter Midget Association hosts the June 28 and November 8 races at Braselton, GA, the Music City Quarter Midget Associations hosts the August 30 race at Nashville, TN and the Huntsville Quarter Midget Association hosts the September 27 race at Huntsville, AL.
Batch car qualifying will be used for four of the races, while events at Salisbury, NC (May 24), Cumming, GA (July 26) and Braselton, GA (November 8, the finale) will sport heat races.
The top three in each class eligible for year-end awards will be honored at the December "Showcase of Champions" banquet in Indianapolis.
"We are pleased to announce these special regional championships and look forward to championship awards at season's end," says USAC Honda .25 Racing Series coordinator Kyle McCain.
