Inside Line Promotions – LUBBOCK, Texas (Dec. 2, 2013) – In addition to building new cars for next season, Kolt Walker and the Graves Motorsports program are in the process of finding potential partners.

“Right now the biggest thing I’ve been working on is getting a little bit of help for next year,” Walker said. “We’re searching for some sponsors to help offset some of the costs. Of course with Thanksgiving last week we’re also trying to be active to work off some of that food we stuffed ourselves with.”

In the midst of a busy offseason, Walker and the team had a bittersweet holiday after the recent passing of Stefanie Haley – a longtime family friend and sponsor.

“I visited with her on the Wednesday before last week,” he said. “Everything was great. For a 75-year-old, she’s pretty cool to sit down and talk to. She was one you could sit down and listen to about life in general. I was just with her and she seemed fine. It was kind of a shock to all of us.”

Haley, who was born in Kansas City and raised in California, did some road racing in her 20s. She and her also deceased husband, John, ranched for more than 40 years and had owned various businesses in Walker’s hometown of Kermit, Texas. The Haley’s daughter, Mary Nell, was the first sponsor of Walker in 2007 and the following season the Haley’s came on board.

“They’ve known my family forever,” Walker said. “Mary Nell was always curious on my racing and she came on board in 2007. Stefanie has been with me since 2008. They’ve been my primary sponsors for the last five or six years. They were family friends even with my grandparents.”

Walker had known the Haley’s since he was a child and became close with the family in the past several years.

“I can’t say enough how grateful I am for the Haley’s support and friendship,” he said. “You never know what is going to happen tomorrow and it’s a life lesson for all of us to be thankful for what’s in front of us. With that said, I want to again thank Donna and Jerry Graves for the opportunity to drive for their team, and I also want to give a special thanks to Jube and Tammy Walker as well as Greg and Samantha Boyle for the support.”
