Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Nov. 5, 2013) – Jack Dover set an extremely high goal to kick off the season.

He aimed for 20 feature wins and without some bad luck and questionable officiating calls, Dover would have hit that mark for the first time in his career.

“I think it’s the best year I’ve had since I’ve been in a big sprint car,” he said. “We had some stupid luck that cost us some wins. Other than that we were always up front everywhere we went.”

Dover captured 15 victories, including six of 12 ASCS Midwest Region races. That propelled him to his third consecutive ASCS Midwest Region championship and his fourth title since 2008.

Of the numerous victories and 24 top fives in 45 races, Dover pointed out two wins that stand out as favorites.

“Either the Steve King Memorial or the Midwest Fall Brawl,” he said. “Those two are my best I guess.”

Dover earned a Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph for the sixth straight season by claiming the 5th annual Steve King Memorial at The Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore, Kan., on May 25. It was his third victory in the prestigious event.

He then swept the 2nd annual Midwest Fall Brawl sponsored by Home Pride Companies, Inc., on Sept. 20-21 at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. By winning the doubleheader Dover took home a $20,000 bonus – the biggest payday of his career.

“The Midwest Fall Brawl started up last year and it’s gotten really big in the past two years,” he said. “We’ve ran first or second in all of the shows.”

Dover ended the season one win away from his career high for victories, but picked up triumphs at nine different race tracks. He was also victorious in several sanctioning bodies, including the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour, ASCS Midwest Region, ASCS Warrior Region, NCRA and Nebraska 360 Sprints.

Dover said the goal for next year is the same.

“I’m going after 20 wins,” he said. “That’s a good goal every year with the way the competition is now. But I couldn’t go after 20 wins this year or next year without the support from my parents and all of my sponsors. I want to thank all of them – big and small – for helping the team have such a successful season and I look forward to going after 20 with them next year.”

SEASON STATS –
