Inside Line Promotions – LINCOLN, Neb. (Nov. 7, 2013) – It was yet another spectacular season for Mark Burch Motorsports and pilot Danny Lasoski.
The team achieved seven feature victories, 13 podium finishes, 15 top fives and 20 top 10s in 27 races this season.
“The consistency, knowing whenever I hopped in Mark’s car no matter where we showed up we were a pain the (butt) to everyone there,” Lasoski said was the reason for the success. “I knew when I crawled in that race car we were going to be close no matter where we went. That’s something to be proud of.”
Arguably the biggest victory of the season was Lasoski’s 100th career triumph in the 410 class at Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Aug. 24. He became the first driver to record triple digits in the win column at the famed track.
“Naturally we loved winning the 100th at Knoxville,” he said. “Once we did it was an honor to do that in Mark’s car. I think that’s very special. He did a great job and it was an incredible night. It’s something we’ll never forget. When we are both old and done racing it’s a memory we will still talk about.”
The team also powered to a preliminary victory during the 23rd annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway for the second straight season and claimed the Nebraska Cup at Eagle Raceway in Eagle, Neb. In fact, Mark Burch Motorsports only finished outside the top 10 once with a 360ci engine this year.
Lasoski also garnered a trio of wins in 410ci action, including sweeping a weekend with the Midwest Open Wheel Association at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa.
“For someone who doesn’t race that much like Mark, to be that in tune with everything is amazing,” Lasoski said. “I think next year will bring a similar schedule for us and I look forward to working with Mark on winning every race.”
Team owner Mark Burch is also grateful for all of the supporters who have helped the team achieve the success.
“First of all, I want to send a shout out to my guys, Shane Wolph and Cal Werner,” he said. “With my busy work and family schedule it really does make it hard to fit in a racing schedule like the one we have. I couldn’t do it without these guys. Shane and Cal have really stepped up to the plate when we needed them the most. They have both gained experience and taken on additional responsibilities that have made our team stronger and better. That kind of work ethic and dedication shows up every time we hit the race track.
“Second, I want to thank Danny Lasoski for his service behind the wheel. He is one of the fiercest competitors I have ever worked with. And although he and I might not always see eye to eye when it comes to points spreads and hash browns, he has taught me a lot about communicating driver feel and race car dynamics. We keep building trust and communication at the race track and I think that shows in the results category. Although we were only a small part of those 100 wins at Knoxville, it was truly a huge honor to get that win with Danny. It is something special that I will never forget for the rest of my life.
“Finally, I need to throw a shout out to my lovely wife, Mari, and my kids, Parker and Sailor. Their continued support is a monumental part of how this all works. They have made sacrifices in their lives and schedules and it means a lot to all of us as competitors and fans to have our family cheering us on as we compete almost every weekend all over the Midwest almost all summer long.”

“Whether we are competing with a 360 or 410 our chassis and shock platform has remained ultra-consistent,” Burch said. “Doug Wolfgang has helped me ‘dumb it down’ when it comes to our chassis configuration. His ‘one bolt hole per accessory’ has really helped us refine our baseline and focus on the things that help us achieve the things that relate to a balanced race car whether we are at Little Rock or Knoxville.
“Dave Shaw at Speedway Motors Shock Service has been a huge asset to us as well. Our shock package provided by AFCO has been winning races since the first weekend out at the Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Dave’s knowledge and attention to detail has given us a fine tuning advantage like no other. Having both of these packages working together hand-in-hand has been a huge advantage for our team.”
