Starks Finishes 15th with UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions at Eldora Speedway

Inside Line Promotions - ROSSBURG, Ohio (Oct. 14, 2013) - Trey Starks made the most of his lone race at the famed Eldora Speedway this season.

Despite a high car count for last Saturday's UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions event, which included three sprint car classes, Starks powered to his 30 th top-15 result of the season.

"All in all it was good," he said. "We made another show with a good, high car count at another great track with some great competition.

"In hot laps I think we were second quick in our group. There were 118 sprint cars (in all of the classes combined) there and so the track went away really quick. We went out fairly late to qualify."

Starks timed in 17th quickest during qualifying to make the heat race inversion. He started his heat on the outside of the front row and held on to claim the fifth-and-final lock-in position to the feature.

"In our heat we started on the outside front row and ended up shuffling back to fifth," he said. "It seemed like we couldn't get our momentum going. We didn't have too great of a car so we made some adjustments."

Starks started the main event on the inside of the eighth row and began to work toward the top 10 from the start.

"I think there was a red with eight laps down and we were up to 11th," he said. "I was rolling the bottom and the bottom started going away. As the top came back in it took me a little bit longer than it should have to get to the top and get back going. I just made a couple of mistakes."

Starks ended with a 15th-place finish to cap his weekend. He was scheduled to compete one final time at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., on Friday. However, the race was cancelled because of rain.

"The low point I would say was not getting to run at Williams Grove," he said. "After a good weekend last weekend I was anticipating a good race."

Starks is slated to compete this Friday and Saturday at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., for the 20th annual Trophy Cup.

"We made the main the first two years and last year we were going to make the main, but I ended up blowing a tire in the B Main," he said. "Your ultimate goal is to make the main both nights and I think we can get a top five. We've been good every time we've been there. I'm looking forward to going and running."
