Ben Deatherage YAKIMA, Wash. It’s about that time of the year when the final races of the season will mark an end to what has been a wonderful 2013 campaign with the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region.
Continuing the tradition dating back to 2008 with ASCS-Northwest the season will close on the ultra-fast Central Washington State Fair Raceway in Yakima, Washington. The speeds will be quick and the action intense and it will all take place on Friday September 20th and Saturday the 21st.
On Friday the pit gates open at Noon while Saturday they will open up a little earlier at 10:00 AM. Both days front gates will open at 4:00 PM and racing will start around 6:00 PM. General admission is included with the purchase of a fair admission but reserved seats are on sale for $18.00. PER THE FAIR PIT PASSES AND DRIVER ENTRIES ARE $35.00.
Roger Crockett has dominated the series this year as he looks to add his fourth title in five years at the weekend’s end. Entering the final two rounds of action he has a massive two-hundred-eighty-six point lead over current runner-up Henry Van Dam. Reece Goetz, Zack Spaulding, and Trey Starks currently round out the rest of the top five point earners of the current season.
The American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region is the western most arm of the American Sprint Car Series sanctioning body located in the Pacific Northwest the series hosts 360 Sprint Car racing on dirt tracks throughout Oregon and Washington from May to September.
