Sooner and Lone Star Regions set for Kennedale showdown

Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (September 9, 2013) A championship battle will come to a close, and another could tighten up on Saturday, September 14 as the American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region closes out their 2013 season at the Kennedale Speedway Park in a co-sanctioned night with the Smiley’s Racing Products Lone Star Region.

Taking a 10 point advantage into the Outlaw Motorsports Park with the American Bank of Oklahoma Sooner Region on Saturday, September 7, Mike Goodman now finds himself trailing Matt Covington by 23 after going upside down in the opening lap of the night’s feature event.

Now assuming the lead in both regions, the Glenpool, Okla. driver will look to back up his duel championship run; being the only driver to grab multiple ASCS Regional titles in the same season so far.

A slim lead in the Sooner standings, Covington holds a commanding 125 point advantage over Patrick Stasa with the series set for another four nights of racing, including this weekend’s Kennedale matchup of which the final three nights will be paired with the Lucas Oil ASCS presented by MAVTV American Real at the Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track on September 21 and Devil’s Bowl Speedway for the Winter Nationals on October 18 and 19.

Events at the Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, September 14 are scheduled to begin at 6:00 P.M. and will include IMCA support divisions. For more information on the Kennedale Speedway Park, log onto http://www.raceksp.com.
