Points chase tightening as Frontier Region heads to Belgrade

Bryan Hulbert - TULSA, Okla. (September 4, 2013) The ASCS Frontier Region returns to the Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Mont. on Saturday, September 7.

Fresh off a weekend sweep at the Electric City Speedway, Joe Ramaker has closed the gap in the title chase to 60 points with Phil Dietz continuing to lead the way.

In terms of the Belgrade oval, the series’ first showing of 2013 saw Ramaker top the field with Dietz posting third on June 21. The current point’s leader followed that up with a win on July 19 with Ramaker returning in kind on August 2.

The series appearance on August 23 saw both drivers posting top five finishes.

Of the 15 dates that have been contested in 2013, the pair combines for 10 wins with Ramaker at seven and Dietz at three. Overall seven drivers have earned wins with David Hoiness, Tony Bruce, Jr., Jason Johnson, Jerry Brey, and Randi Miller each posting a single win this season.

Trever Kirkland holds third having posted nine top five, and a dozen top ten finishes with the Frontier Region.

David Hoiness, who picked his first Frontier Regional victory on August 23 at the Gallatin Speedway, sits fourth with seven top fives’, and ten top tens’.

Jeremy McCune completes the top five in driver standings with a pair of top five runs and seen top ten finishes. Currently the top five is separated by 377 points.

Saturday’s event at the Gallatin Speedway is set to begin at 7:00 P.M. and is the season ending show for the Belgrade, Mont. oval. For more information on the Gallatin Speedway, log onto http://www.gallatinspeedway.com.
