Texas Motor Speedway US National Dirt Track Champioinship Reserved Pit Spaces Sold Out; Event Registration Continues

Ft. Worth, TX (8/20/13) by DarinShort.com. As of this morning, all 120 reserved pit spaces at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track have been purchased by drivers competing at the upcoming Port-A-Cool® U.S. National Dirt Track Championship.

The event is slated for September 20th-21st, with an open practice for all three race divisions on September 19th.

Although the reserved pit space supplies have been exhausted, event registration is ongoing through September 6th, and there are plenty of pit spaces available on the grassy pit area directly next to the paved area.

Modified and Limited Modified drivers will have two provisional starters added to each of their championship features (starting 25th and 26th), but they will be drawn from pre-entered drivers, so don't miss out on this second chance! Again, early registration ends on September 6th, 2013.

As previously announced, there are several unique twists to this year’s event:

The Modified and Limited Modified championship feature events will each start 3-wide. Nine rows of three wide cars will start their features – for a total of 27 in each!

Each Modified and Limited Modified event will be started and restarted at the chalk line in corner four. Single file restarts have been replaced with the popular ‘Delaware’ style, which has the lead car out front and the rest of the restarting field double-file behind. All starts and restarts will be side-by-side, nose-to-tail and no fanning out…so drivers will get a fair start/restart.

There will be an auction held in the pit area prior to each of the Modified and Limited Modified championship feature events, with the highest bidding driver starting in the 27th position.

The traditional practice night will be held on Thursday, September 19th, with the following addition: there will be a Pit Party following the practice (at 10pm) for all of the teams in attendance.
