The ASCS National Tour raced at one of Michael's favorite tracks (Salina Highbanks Speedway) this weekend. Wanting an opportunity to run at an event with some of the best drivers in the nation, Michael brought his OCRS car to the event. Although outgunned because of the smaller fixed wing, 2-barrel carbureted motor and 200 less horsepower of the OCRS cars, Michael finished 4th in his heat race earning a spot in the "A" Feature where he powered the Stewart Engines - Maxim Chassis - Jet Hot and Carter/Maxwell BiGFooT sprinter to a 15th place finish. Thirty cars started the night and Michael finished in the top half. Savoring the moment at the start of the "A" Feature, Michael was surrounded in the lineup by Brian Brown, Johnny Herrera, and Tony Bruce, Jr. Only a week ago, Michael was watching many of the same drivers he raced against at Salina competing at the Knoxville Nationals; Brian Brown finished 2nd at Knoxville and Michael was competing against him at Salina. It was a historic fun evening and an excellent inaugural ASCS National race for Michael.
