Terry Mattox – SAPULPA, Okla. (August 3, 2013) – Casey Wills, Matt French, Larry Pense, Bobby Wolfe, and Daniel Ray Denton visited Creek County Speedway victory lane Saturday night on Night 4 of the “Race for the Championship.”
Champ Sprints:
Casey Wills captured his first Champ Sprint victory at Creek County Speedway, besting a field of 17 competitors. Wills low point average sat him on the pole of the 20 lap affair. On the drop of Hank Duensing’s green flag, Wills jumped out to the early race lead and wouldn’t look back leading wire-to-wire. Kyle Clark coming from the second row outside position ran up to second on the start. Caution would come out on lap 5 as Kenny Gariss spun around in turn four collecting the 9$ of Clark. On the restart Mickey Walker would sit in the runner up spot. Back under green Jamie Passmore made a run on the young Walker and would take the second spot on lap 9. Yellow on lap 10 for James Esmond would bring things to a halt. On the restart Wills jumped back out to the race lead. Coming to complete the 11th circuit Travis Ashwood went upside down bringing out the red flag, Ricky York was also involved. Following the lap 11 restart Wills went on to capture the win, Passmore came home in second, Fred Mattox in third, with Brian McClelland and Mickey Walker rounding out the top 5.

Modifieds:
Matt French captured the nights “Mighty Modified” ‘A’ Feature event. As 10 cars signed into the pit area the Modified division French would sit on the pole of the main event were he would also lead wire-to-wire. Dena Wilson would be right behind him on the start of the race, until lap 4 when Ho Dean got around Dena for the second spot. Dena would get right back by Dean on lap 8, and her son Brett Wilson would go right around her on lap 9. French held on to capture the Modified feature event, Brett Wilson second, Dena Wilson third, Ho Den and Ben Frey rounded out the top 5.

Dwarf Cars:
Larry Pense made it three in a row in the “Down and Dirty” Dwarf Car division Saturday night at Creek County Speedway. Dale Bagby and Rick Cochran started on the front row of the 20 lap feature event. Cochran ran out to the early race lead, leading until lap 3 as Larry Pense came from the eighth starting spot to take the lead and would lead the last 17 laps of the feature event. Kevin Brewer also got around Cochran for the second spot. Kent Kantor took the third spot from Cochran on lap 6. Kantor got around Brewer on lap 12 and hold on to the second spot at the finish. Kevin Brewer came home in third, Jeff Record fourth, and rounding out the top 5 would be Rick Cochran.

Factory Stocks:
Bobby Wolfe ran home with yet another win in the “Fast and Furious” Factory Stock division. 16 drivers took on the “Quick Quarter” in the nights feature event. Robert McClain started pole of the 20 lap event and would jump out to the early race lead with Bobby Wolfe in tow. Half way through Wolfe got a run on McClain and would take the top spot and go on to lead the closing 9 laps of the feature. McClain held on to second, Josh Jefferies rounded out the podium, with Grant Wresche, and Jimmy Owen rounding out the top 5 in the Factory Stock feature event.

Daniel Ray Denton continued his “Race for the Championship” domination Saturday night taking home his fourth straight “Race” win. Jimmy Masterson and Jesse Miller brought down the field to the green flag in the nights “Survival of the Fittest” Mini Stock division. Masterson jumped out to the early race lead and led the opening 12 laps of competition. Dee Denton right in tow would hold on to the second spot until lap 8, as both Daniel Ray Denton and Justin Cartwright would get around, dropping Dee to the fourth spot. Dee Denton got back around Cartwright for the third spot on lap 9. Kelby Bowers also got around Cartwright to take the fourth spot. Daniel Ray Denton went on to win, Masterson second, Dee Denton third, Bowers fourth, and Cartwright fifth.
