Binz Loses Chain Early While Battling for Lead at Kennedale Speedway Park

Inside Line Promotions - KENNEDALE, Texas (July 29, 2013) - A new week had a similar ending for John Binz.

After both of his options were cancelled because of rain last Friday, Binz and his mini sprint competed on Saturday at Kennedale Speedway Park.

"I drew the pole for the heat race and led every lap," he said. "It was pretty rough with the sun going into (turn) three. You could barely see the infield tire. With it being rough the car was pretty tight. It made for an eventful heat race."

The top two in each heat race redrew for the feature positions and Binz pulled the No. 2 to start on the outside of the front row. However, it didn't take long for a mechanical issue to park him in the feature.

"I was running third and the chain broke," he said. "That's two weekends in a row of not getting the result we should have."

With the chain coming off exiting turn two on Lap 3 of the 20-lap feature, Binz was relegated to a 22nd-place finish.

"We've been fast," he said. "The A Main finishes don't show how we should have finished. We're either up front or upside down or crashing or breaking something. We're good when we finish. The finishes just aren't there every weekend. It's frustrating."

Binz is scheduled to compete on Friday at Mountain Creek Speedway in Grand Prairie, Texas. If things go well, he said he will possibly race on Saturday at Gator Motorplex in Willis, Texas.
