Friday and Saturday were the ASCS Nationals at Gray's Harbor Raceway in Elma, WA. The 1st night we didn't do so hot. There were 27 cars total. Brent was in the 4th heat and started 2nd row outside. During Hot Laps our motor died. Come to find out the power steering pump went out. The power steering pump turns the fuel pump as well. After a lot of pulling pieces off the old pump and running back and forth to the parts trailer we got a new pump on, took a couple safety laps and was ready to go for the heat race. Brent ran 4th the whole race only to get passed right at the checkered flag to place him 5th. 4th place would have put him straight to the A Main, instead Brent had to go to the B Main. Top 6 finishers in the B go to the A. Brent started 3rd in the B Main, finished 11th. Just didn't have the car set up good enough, shocks, tires, it was a little bit of everything. He tried high, he tried low, kissed the wall in turn 4 with his right rear tire, just couldn't make it work. We were done for the night. Great job to Brent for keeping the car in one piece. On to the next night...
