Ivie Earns Third Northwest Extreme Sprint Victory

At Cottage Grove Speedway fans were delighted on Saturday July 6th by the Northwest Extreme Sprints. The division was on hand as a support class to the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region as they closed out their Speedweek. Eugene’s Raquel Ivie would earn her third win of the 2013 season when everything was said and done.
Dan Philpott from Glide was the early race leader in his Eveland Sandblasting/Double R Powdercoating #29 Rocket. Philpott was in search of his first win of the season but would lose the lead right around the halfway mark. The driver he would lose the lead to was none other than the Three Rivers Casino/Bi-Mart/Brook’s Cut Rate Auto Parts #70 Maxim of Raquel Ivie.
Ivie would make a move on the inside of Philpott to obtain the lead. She would go unchallenged the rest of the way to earn her most recent victory. The class has been dominated by female drivers so far this year with Ivie and Kady Adelman the only two drivers that have won this year.
Mike Griffth of Fall Creek in the 1st Choice Construction/RV Outlet/Crossfire Ministries #21 Gambler was second followed by the K&S Motorsports/BC Motorsports #6A Maxim of Kady Adelman from Salem. Completing the finishing order was Dan Phipott in fourth.
Earlier in the evening Raquel Ivie would set fast time of the night at 11.878 seconds. Kady Adelman was the trophy dash winner and earning the triumph in the heat race would be Dan Philpott.
