Terry Mattox – SAPULPA, Okla. (June 29th, 2013) – Alex “The Jet” Sewell and Robert McClain visited the Creek County Speedway winner circle for the first time tonight, as Ho Dean, Larry Pense and Dearl Harrison makes it two in a row.
Alex “The Jet” Sewell picked up his first win in the Champ Sprint division at Creek County Speedway tonight sweeping the nights racing action. A total of 16 Champ Sprint drivers signed into the pits to do battle at the quick quarter. Len Larkin and Jamie McDonald started on the front row of the 20 lap affair, Jamie McDonald ran out to the early race lead as Larkin followed. Yellow came out on lap 3 as Joshua Tyre and Jackie York get tangled causing both drivers night to come to an end. On the restart Mickey Walker shot around McDonald to take the race lead. Lap 6 saw another lead change as Alex Sewell took the lead from the young Walker. Walker would retain the lead on lap 8 and would go on to lead until the last lap as Walker spun around on the bottom of turn 4 coming to the checkered flag. Sewell would take the win, Brent Bates came home second, and Glen Passmore rounded out the podium. Ricky York and Jamie McDonald rounded out the top 5.

Robert McClain also drove his way to the Creek County Speedway winner circle for the first time in the fast and furious Factory Stock division. 7 cars checked into the Creek County Speedway for another night of fast and furious Factory Stock action. Robert McClain started out his night by winning the lone heat race. Bobby Wolfe would take home the qualifier win. McClain starting on the pole of the 20 lap feature event would jump out to the early race lead and not look back leading wire-to-wire. Jimmy Owens and Josh Jefferies put up a battle for the second spot, but it was Jefferies at the finish line to come home second. Jimmy Owens would settle for the third spot. Bobby Wolfe, Aaron Coccia, and Joseph Smith rounded out the field.

Larry Pense revisited CCS victory lane again this week. 11 down and dirty Dwarf Cars took the green flag tonight at “The Creek.” Pense swept the nights action in the Dwarf Car class, winning the heat, qualifier, and 20 lap feature event. Rick Cochran and Kevin Brewer started on the pole of the feature event. Brewer would get the early advantage and lead until lap 6 as he and Rob McQuary got together to bring out the caution flag. Due to on track retaliation both drivers were disqualified for that race and that would end their night. With both first and second DQ, the lead was handed to Pense. Pense would take advantage of the opportunity and would lead the remaining 14 laps to take home the win. Current Dwarf Car point leader Jeff Record came home in second, and Rick Cochran rounding out the podium.

Dearl Harrison survived the Mini Stock feature to visit victory lane again this week. Harrison picked up the lone heat race win, as Michael Stucks would take the qualifier win. 10 cars were set to do battle in the nights 20 lap affair which proved that only the strong survive. Jimmy Masterson and Dearl Harrison started on the front row of the affair and Harrison would jump out to the race lead. Stucks would get around on Harrison on lap 4. Stucks and Daniel Ray Denton battled hard for the lead on lap 17, but Stucks and Denton would get together and Stucks got the bad end of the stick. Stucks night ended and Daniel Ray Denton would take over the lead. The lap 17 caution would see leader drop like flies. Denton would have a flat and be sent to the pits, giving the lead to Dee Denton. Still under caution after Daniel being sent to the pits, Dee would also end up with a flat sending him also to the pits. Jimmy Masterson retained the lead and coming around under caution would end up with a flat tire sending him to the pits as well. Under caution there were 3 lane changes in 3 caution laps. Dearl Harrison was handed the lead back and would go on to capture the win. Stucks came home in second and Masterson rounded out the top 3.

We saved the best for last tonight at the Creek County Speedway as the mighty Modifieds put on a heck of a show to end the night. Ho Dean capture the win to find himself in CCS victory lane again this week out dueling Dena Wilson. Dena Wilson capture both the heat race and qualifier wins in the nights Modified division. Mathew McBride and Dena Wilson started on the front row of the 20 lap affair. Dena jumped out to the early race lead with Ho Dean in tow. The two put up a vicious battle. On lap 8 Dean got around Wilson to take the top spot. Dena didn’t give up as she gave Ho Dean a run for his money, but came up short at the line. Dean went on to win, Dena Wilson came home in second, and Richard Bias rounded out the podium. Brett “The Jet” Wilson and Mathew McBride rounded out the top 5.

Creek County Speedway will be taking next weekend off and will come back for the beginning of the “Race for the Championship” on Sat. July 13th.
