Ben Deatherage - WHITE CITY, Ore. (June 26, 2013) In less than a week’s time the superstars of the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region will visit the Southern Oregon Speedway for round three of the 2013 Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest presented by Contingency Connection. The series will visit the venue on Monday July 1st for what should be an exceptional night of racing. It will also mark the only time in 2013 that the ASCS-Northwest Region will visit the one-third mile clay oval.
“Southern Oregon will be a unique challenge to these teams this year,” commented Series Director for ASCS-Northwest Brian Crockett, “This event will be the first time many of these drivers have raced here this year. This is great event that always draws a good crowd and we are expecting a good car count.”
In the fifteen year history of Speedweek Northwest there have been fifteen events held at Southern Oregon Speedway with eleven different feature winners. Brent Kaeding tops the list at four victories while last year’s winner Shane Stewart is the only other repeat winner with two. Drivers that have won once include Henry Van Dam, Travis Rilat, Jonathan Allard, Jesse Hockett, Danny Horner, Roger Crockett, Steve Kent, Brad Furr, and Shawna Wilskey.
In the last fifteen editions of Bully Dog Performance Speedweek Northwest there have been nine different champions. Steve Kent has the most, with four titles, while Roger Crockett has three and Brent Kaeding with two. Six drivers have won the entire kit and caboodle just once which is a very impressive list of winners. That list includes Brad Furr, Jesse Hockett, Bud Kaeding, Kyle Larson, Shane Stewart, and the 2012 victor Mitch Olson.
When it comes to ASCS-Northwest sanctioned events at SOS seven have occurred all producing a different winner on each occasion. The list of victors is Shane Stewart, Henry Van Dam, Travis Rilat, Roger Crockett, Dan Menne, Jesse Hockett, and Jonathan Allard. Will Southern Oregon Speedway see its first ASCS repeat winner this year?
