Tornados all but destroyed I44 Riverside Speedway last month. The facility sustained over $100,000 worth of damage and cannot hold races until major repairs are made. The facility has been a major fixture in the local dirt track racing scene and is the sole remaining dirt racing venue continuing an 80+ year legacy of dirt oval racing in Oklahoma City. Racers, owners, fans, fellow small business owners, and fellow speedways from all over Oklahoma and surrounding states as far away as California and Illinois have joined the mission to #Restore44 by the blockbuster 14th Annual Mini Sprint Nationals on August 1st thru 3rd.
I44 Riverside Speedway promoters Mark Banister and Gloria Olexa have teamed up with Pole Position Raceway to hold a fundraiser on July 11th. The event is expected to draw several hundred enthusiasts and fans who will help join the efforts to race for recovery.
A portion of the proceeds from Pole Position Raceway racing will go to I44 Riverside Speedway plus there will be a silent auction with all sorts of cool items. Event details, including items featured in the silent auction, will be featured and updated regularly at www.i44riversidespeedway.com and on the official I44 Riverside Speedway Facebook page.
