Williams Grove Speedway's Saturday Night Series closes out their 2015 campaign with a show on Friday, September 11. Racing action will feature the Blazer's Body Shop Super Sportsman, Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late Models and Aquafun Pools Street Stocks.
The highlight of this event will be the fifth annual 358 Late Model Topless 30. Each team will remove the roof of their car, and the drivers will compete under the stars.
Kenny Riland, a former competitor, organized the Topless 30. Williams Grove Speedway will pay the weekly purse for the popular stock car class. Riland gained sponsorship from MWG Transport, Inc. of Lebanon, Pennsylvania & Harbaugh Amusement Machine of Martinsburg, West Virginia. With added sponsorship the 30-lap race will pay $2,000 to win with last position receiving $300.
The top 358 Late Model drivers from across the tristate region will be in action including Billy Wampler, Williams Grove Speedway's 2015-point champion.
The Blazer's Body Shop Super Sportsman will compete in a 20-lap main event. Frankie Herr captured the 2015-point crown. Craig Morgan, Williams Grove Speedway's 2015 Street Stock title winner, will be trying to win his first 2015 checkered flag in the 15-lap Street Stock feature.
An added attraction will include cars on display from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. Fans will be able to visit the machines from years past.
Williams Grove Speedway management will donate their half of the 50/50 money to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in memory of Linda Bigler. Bigler was a popular Saturday Night Series official that passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Friday's event.
Racing admission for the Friday show is $6 for adults with children 12 and under free. Racing action begins at 7:30 PM.
