Williams Grove Hosts Double Sprints August 28, Two Big Shows Labor Day Weekend

Mechanicsburg - A sprint car double feature including the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints and the HJ Towing & Recovery 358 sprint cars is slated for this Friday night, August 28 at Williams Grove Speedway.

Racing begins at 7:30 pm.

Lap and bonus money will be in effect for the 410 sprints as both divisions compete in handicapped feature events.

Adult general admission on August 28 is $14 with youth ages 13-20 admitted for $10.

Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted for free at Williams Grove Speedway.

Williams Grove will donate its portion of the 50/50 drawing on the night to New Hope Ministries of Dillsburg, a local outreach organization for people in need.

Williams Grove Speedway is in action twice during the upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend, on Friday September 4 and Sunday, September 6.

The historic oval will host the 33rd annual Jack Gunn Memorial on September 4 along with the PA Sprint Series 305 sprints plus a fireworks display.

The 2015 Gunn Memorial, run in honor of the late promoter, will utilize an Outback style format, that includes time trials, double heats for each group of cars, a dash and a 30-lap main event paying $6,000 to win.

Drivers will accumulate points for their performances in qualifying time trials and both of their heats that help seat them for the dash and A Main.

And then on Sunday night the running of the Billy Kimmel Memorial for 410 sprints takes center stage along with 358 sprints and another fireworks shoot.

The 25-lap Kimmel Memorial main will pay $3,800 to win and will be lined up by regular handicapping procedures.
