Twin 20s For Sprints And Street Stocks Friday At Williams Grove Speedway

Mechanicsburg - Williams Grove Speedway will present Twin 20s for 410 sprints this Friday night, August 21, at 7:30 pm.

Also on the racing program will be the Saturday Series street stock division.

Each of the 20-lap mains for the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprints will pay $2,500 to win with time trials locking in the front 6, 8 or 12 starters (dependent on number of entries) with the balance of the field competing in twin last chance races to get into the field.

The winner of the first main will draw an inversion pill to start the second 20-lapper.

Williams Grove Speedway will purchase and distribute some $5,000 in rear tires to the competitors in the Twin 20s, adding to the overall value of the events.

All finishers in the first feature will each receive a free rear tire along with the winner of the second main event.

Fireworks are also a part of the Twins show.

The event is part of the 2015 Hoosier Diamond Series at the track of which Greg Hodnett is the current point leader.

Hodnett also currently leads the overall 2015 Lawrence Chevrolet 410 sprint season point standings, trying to pick up back-to-back titles at the historic facility.

Adult general admission is $18 with youth priced at just $10.

Kids ages 12 and under are always admitted FREE at Williams Grove Speedway.

An exhibition of restored racecars from the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will take place in the speedway infield prior to the races on August 21 and track time for the cars is on tap as well.

The track portion of the 50/50 on August 21 will go to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing.

Brent Marks and Greg Hodnett split the Twin 20's at the track last season.

Only twice in 40 running's of Twin 20's at Williams Grove has one driver swept the double features.

Van May accomplished the feat in 1983 while Fred Rahmer pulled it off in 1995.

The running of the August 21 Twin 20's will play a vital role in helping to determine the 2015 track champion.

Any bad luck or mechanical malfunction could sideline the front-runners from staying in the title fight.

The Williams Grove Saturday series featuring action with the super sportsman, limited late models and the street stocks continues through August.
