Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series Super Sportsman News

Blazer's Body Shop, a long-time sponsor of the Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series Super Sportsman, will return as the 2015 primary backer of the division.

Blazer's Body Shop, located on South York Road in Dillsburg, PA., opened for business in 1969. Ron Blazer operated the business. Blazer was known in local racing beginning with his competition in the flathead-powered Sportsman cars at the defunct Silver Spring Speedway. He later drove Ken Appler's powerful No. 76 Super Modified and Super Sprint.

Sprint Aces, a racing component business on Kralltown Road in Wellsville, PA. returns as the sponsor of the SNS Super Sportsman Hard Charger Award. The competitor that advances the greatest number of feature positions will receive $50 and a mug from Sprint Aces.

W.C. Eshenaur and Son Inc., one of the Susquehanna Valley's top heating oil companies, will sponsor a Last Lap Challenge for the Super Sportsman division. Any Super Sportsman driver that makes his winning pass on the final circuit during a Saturday Night Series feature will receive $100 from W.C. Eshenaur and Son Inc.

The Williams Grove Super Sportsman completed a highly competitive 2014 season. The Super Sportsman, a race car unique to this area, competed in 16 events and had ten feature winners.

The Saturday Night Series began in 2006 with Dave Calaman winning the inaugural race. During the ten-year span of the successful series, 35 drivers scored victories at Williams Grove Speedway. Frankie Herr is the leading Saturday Night Series Super Sportsman feature winner with 22 victories. Scott Geesey and Paul Miller have ten wins placing them in a tie for second.

Saturday, May 2nd will be the first race in the 2015 Williams Grove Speedway Saturday Night Series. The Blazer's Body Shop Super Sportsman, Credit Connection Auto Sales 358 Late Models and Aquafun Pools Street Stocks will compete in the 16-race schedule.

All racing will begin at 7 PM with adult admission just six dollars with children 12 and under free.
