Teaming up with Roth Motorsports for the 30th annual Trophy Cup, Ryan Timms unloaded the Roth Enterprises No. 83 Sprinter at Thunderbowl Raceway (Tulare, Cali.) on Thursday afternoon for the three-day program.
With 65 360 Sprint Cars on the grounds for the event with a unique format, Timms was still adjusting to the new ride earlier in the evening but was able to transfer into Thursday's feature with a ninth-to-third outing in his consolation race. Finding more speed in the 30-lap A-Main, Ryan climbed six positions to finish 17th.
On Friday, Ryan turned back a charging Dominic Scelzi in his heat race to secure the eight-lap victory. Pinned on the 12th for for the A-Main, Timms rallied forward nine spot to register a 14th-place finish.
After securing his spot into Saturday's Trophy Cup finale via a B-Main, Timms' bid for the $7,500 top prize in the 50-lap feature ended early after pulling off. He retired on lap 46 while running in fourth.
