Inside Line Promotions – JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 7, 2024) – Tim Estenson produced mixed results last weekend during the Ron Milton Race of Champions at Jacksonville Speedway.

He was tied for the second-most positions gained in the feature on Friday before narrowly missing the A Main on Saturday during the Midwest Open Wheel Association doubleheader.

The weekend began on Friday with Estenson advancing from eighth to sixth place in a heat race.

“It was tough with no qualifying and it rained on Friday so the track was pretty juiced and narrow,” he said. “We had a bad pill draw and we were able to salvage two spots in the heat race. We made the show through finishing second in the B Main and then we moved up eight spots in the A Main. You have to be aggressive and get after it, especially on a short track like that. You don’t have any time to waste.”

The run from 24th to 16th in the main event marked Estenson’s 29th top 20 of the season.

Saturday’s weekend finale featured results of fifth in a heat race and sixth in the B Main.

“We drew a little better,” Estenson said. “In the heat race, we got to second and I made a driver error. I should have stayed on the bottom, but I jumped up top and got passed on the bottom. We started in a decent spot in the B Main. We were holding our own in third or fourth, but I made a mistake going into turn three and got it pitched too sideways and spun around. We got back up to fifth and on a late green-white-checkered restart I picked the wrong real estate and wasn’t able to get into a transfer spot.

“We had a new car for the weekend. The results may not have showed, but the feeling of the car went in a positive direction. I think we have a new baseline to build off.”

Estenson plans on heading south to compete in a Kubota High Limit Racing doubleheader this Friday and Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway Dirt Track in Fort Worth, Texas. It will mark his first time at the track.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT – Yamalube

In the mid-1960s Mr. Leo Lake, National Service Manager for then Yamaha International Corporation realized the sportcycle market needed a high quality oil that enhanced reliability, durability and dependability because "off-the-shelf" automotive oils simply didn't live up to Yamaha's standards.

After some service issues in the early ‘60s, Leo pursued the lubrication side of the problem for the next two years, convinced it had to do with lubrication and not the engine itself. After having tested hundreds of combinations Leo developed a blend that in 1967 became the iconic YAMALUBE brand and to this day we still embrace his uncompromising commitment to quality and performance.

Simply put, Yamalube is the only oil "built around" the unique demands, operating characteristics, and applications of not only Yamaha engines, but all Powersport engines. For more information, visit http://www.yamaha-motor.com.

“Yamalube makes top-of-the-line lubricants and cleaning products that help our race car operate well and look nice,” Estenson said.

Estenson would like to thank Estenson Racing, Truline Logistics, Yamalube, Arai Helmets, JDP Electric, JDP Automation and Backlund Plumbing for their continued support.
