Elma, WA -
On the season finale at Grays Harbor Raceway Alex Peck clean sweeps the night and wins his 3rd track championship including back to back. Tyson Burman survived the 360 Limited Sprint Main in second ever start. Cory Sweatman finished his awesome season by getting his 8th win this year with a clean sweep of the night.
The Focus Midgets had the season championship and Fall Classic and Alex Peck in the Pyles Motorsports 13a had a clean sweep going quick time, winning the heat race, and taking the lead from Doug Davenport and cruising on to the win. Davenport was second, Chad Kincaid was third, Glenn Bittrolf was fourth and Gary Wegener was fifth. The track championship went to Alex Peck.
It was survival in the Limited Sprints when Jeff Pearson and Steve Parker tangled on the opening lap to end their night. Tyson Burman from Lewiston Idaho took off to the lead on the restart and Alex Olsen saved it on the first lap but lost momentum and Tanner Merritt moved into second and they had a spirited battle until lap 9 when Olsen and Merritt tangled and Olsen getting upside down and ending his night. The race was cut to a green, white, checkered where Tyson Burman helpd off Tanner Merritt to get his first win in only his second start.
In the hornets they qualified tonight and Cory Sweatman was quick time setting a new record at 18.953 since there is no record of them qualifying before. Cory then won his heat race and started seventh and took the lead on lap 5 from Reuben Pruett and picked up the win. Jason Scheibel in his Grays Harbor debut finished second, Reuben Pruett in a new car finished 3rd followed by Jason Parmelee in 4th and our 2024 champion Max Sanford rounding out the top 5.
That’s a wrap on the 2024 season. We will be celebrating the 2024 season at our banquet on Oct 26 with more details to come. Keep an eye out on our website and social media on the plans for 2025 as we will be releasing details as the off season moved ahead.
