Officials with the Rapid Tire Services, USAC East Coast Sprint Car Series, Presented by Capitol Renegade have made the difficult decision to conclude the 2024 season, with one weekend of racing remaining at the Bridgeport Speedway.
After talking with promoters Danny Dietrich and Doug Rose, a decision has been made for the series to opt out of the 410 sprint car weekend at the Bridgeport Motorsports Park on the weekend of November 1&2.
First and foremost, we would like to thank Danny Dietrich for offering to have the series as a part of this event in the first place, and for his understanding of the series current position in 2024, and for the decision being made.
Due to a number of factors, the series has decided to conclude our season and being work for the 2025 season. Upon speaking with Dietrich, the series was given a car count number needed for us to be part of the weekend in November. With many factors including: low car counts this season, multiple teams having engine issues and concluding their seasons, the non-points nature of the event, and seven weeks of idle time between the last series event and the November event, lead to the decision for the series.
Rather than come up short on car count for a very important event for Dietrich, and the facility, it was determined to allow our teams plenty of time to get their rebuild season underway to ensure a bigger, and better 2025 season under a new promotional effort from Fran Hogue and team.
Again, we thank Danny Dietrich and Doug Rose for their understanding, and this decision was not taken lightly. The speedway and Dietrich’s promotional team are looking for a successful show, and we would like to afford them the opportunity of having plenty of time to find a substitution for the weekend, rather than hold their efforts up.
Moving toward the future, there WILL be a 2025 USAC East Coast Season! Plans are underway and scheduling will be worked on in the coming weeks!
Fran Hogue has a plan to transition the series into more of a club set up, with members in position to assist with rules decisions, scheduling, and other issues that may arise. A meeting to discuss rule changes, scheduling, and club positions will be held in the near future and a post will be made informing drivers and teams of the date and location.
As stated before, the series is in a transitional period and is working to ensure the future of wingless sprint car racing in the northeast for 2025 and beyond!
Anyone wishing to be involved with the series in terms of sponsorship, scheduling events, or otherwise is encouraged to reach out to Fran Hogue and Ed Aikin.
We would like to thank our sponsors and partners for their support of the 2024 season and hope to see them back for 2025!
Thank you!
