Thirty-three points separate the top five drivers in the USAC DMA Midget standings going into a June 15 race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vet.
Viets was third and Chaffee fifth in last Saturday’s race at Bear Ridge and Viets stands just 11 points ahead of Chaffee in the latest points.
Josh Sunn of White River Circle, Vt. earned his first USAC feature victory in Saturday night’s 25-lap race at Bear Ridge. He passed Timopthy Gallant on lap four and led the rest of the way to beat Adam Pierson, Viets, Scott Holcomb and Chaffee.
