RAIN RAIN GO AWAY: Late Afternoon Shower Cancels Championship Night at SaltCity Racing

9/20/2024 Hutchinson, Kansas (www.urssracing.com) - The United Rebel Sprint Series final stop to SaltCity Racing in Hutchinson, Kansas came to a short end before it could even begin Friday evening.

As the series was scheduled for two different shows this weekend just 48 hours ago, mother nature has been flat out mischievous with the series lately. With the Championship night at Dodge CIty Raceway Park scheduled for Saturday, September 21st being canceled due to forecasted rain, the series could barely even get the cars out Friday evening before the showers came.

With the abrupt showers and no real forecast on how long the rain would last, track and series officials made the tough decision to call the races prior to cars hitting the track.

“Unfortunately Mother Nature is going to win this one! Being the last regular season race, we will be refunding all pit pass and grand stand admissions. Please expect to see refunds middle to end of next week. We will see you on October 5 for the Open Modified and Stock Car Special” said SaltCity Racing on Facebook.

The series will now turn its attention to I-70 Motorsports Park on Saturday September 28th before the series ends the season at Longdale Speedway on October 18-19th.
