Waylon Phillips kicked off his Labor Day weekend with a trip to Nebraska on Friday as he ventured to KAM Raceway (Hastings, Neb.) for the track’s Championship Weekend.
Pulling double duty at the 1/8-mile oval, Phillips returned to the A-Class Winged ranks with a sixth-place finish in Friday’s opener. In his Race Star Wheels Stock Non-Wing, Waylon’s fourth-place heat finish pinned him on the 10th row for the feature. Making an impressive run to the front, Phillips advanced through the field nine spots to secure his seventh win of the 2024 campaign. He finished 0.972 seconds ahead of Jarred Hackler with Greg Berry rounding out the podium.
On Saturday, Waylon capped of his Labor Day weekend with a fourth-place run in his Non-Wing and a seventh-place outing in the A-Class Winged ranks.
