The Race to Watch!!
After the nail biter on 8/9, Garrison & Davis both move past Bales in Factory Stock!
Before the Friday Night Lights race on 8/9/2024, brother Chris and Matt held the #1 & #2 spots in the 2024 Points Championship for Vetbox Containers Factory Stock. After a great night of racing, Houston Garrison (Car #2) and Dewayne Davis (Car #D3) had worked their way through the field to gather up enough points to overcome the 14 and 18 point deficit to overtake Matt Bales.
Matt performed well enough in Heat 1, placing 3rd, after starting in the pole position.
Garrison would not start Heat 1, meaning he’d be starting from 14th for the Main. He certainly had the track figured out as he drove the car all the way to 7th, collecting a ton of points along the way!
Davis began Heat 2 in 6th, and drove the #D3 car to 4th. Dewayne would fend off racers and hold onto his starting position at the end of the race, finishing in 8th.
Chris Bales had a great night and stretched his lead by another 23 points because of the scuffle behind him. Chris started Heat 1 in 6th and worked his way to 4th, to finish behind Matt. For the Main, he would do it again, wheeling the car from 7th to 4th.
These kind of races show that the Vetbox Containers Factory Stock Points Championship is still anyone’s game between the Bales brothers and Garrison and Davis!
Chris Bales has lead all season and holds the #1 spot with 789 Points
Following Chris is now Houston Garrison, trailing by 47 points, with 742 Points.
Behind Garrison by just 6 points is Dewayne Davis with 736 Points!
Now in 4th, Matt Bales and his 723 Points trails Davis by a measly 13 Points.
