RS12 Motorsports’ strong showing in Missouri and Illinois over the weekend was highlighted by another trip to victory lane for the Spartan Transportation-backed team.
As he has throughout 2024, on Friday, Zander LaRose raced his Avenue Auto Sales & Repair No. 1Z car in the LO206 Restricted Box Stock class at Doe Run (Missouri) Raceway. He drove from seventh to finish second in his heat race on the 1/6-mile track, then started from the pole in the 10-lap A-Main. He wired the field to take his 16th feature victory of the year by 5.653 seconds over Presley Hall. Third place went to Karter Bates, with Maverick Beard and Bostynn Coleman finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Saturday saw LaRose and his team move on to Coles County Speedway in Mattoon, Illinois, where “Z Man” raced in the Junior Sprint class. He won his heat on the 1/8-mile oval and began the 15-lap A-Main from the pole. Despite a flip, he brought home a fifth-place result behind AJ Williams, Jasper Hellman, Mason Vincent and Tanner Dill.
Meanwhile, RS12 Motorsports’ Harrison Robards was also competing at Coles County, driving the No. 1K on loan from Kenzie Dowllar Motorsports in the A-Class Wing program. A fifth-place heat-race finish put Robards ninth on the grid to start the 20-lap feature. He came home in the same position.
