Masked Marauders Gallop Into Outlaw Motorsports Park

Tulsa Oklahoma (May 29, 2013) – This Saturday night, the Oil Capital Racing Series will bring their pack of bandits to Wainwright Oklahoma where they will trod their ultra sharp sprint cars onto the 3/8 mile clay oval of the “Outlaw Motorsports Park.” In recent events, OMP has been an excellent venue for sprint car drama. There was the night when Mike Goodman was leading when a radiator hose let loose late in the race costing him a sure win. Then there was the night when Sean McClelland was leading on the white flag lap only to have a tire go flat in turn four allowing 4-time champion Jamie Passmore to score with only 60 yards left to the payday stripe.
For racing venues, Outlaw Motorsports Park is one of the finest facilities in the region. After going through a revolving door of promoters in recent years, the track was taken over this year by Carey and Nichole Menasco. With some of the improvements the Menasco’s have made to an otherwise well designed facility, the track has finally found the keepers of the gate it has been looking for and the track’s future looks very promising. “It is very exciting to be able to return to such a wonderful racetrack as Outlaw,” commented series president Barry Grabel. “While this will be our first race back (no OCRS events were held at OMP in 2012), our business dealings to date with Carey and Nichole have been nothing but professional and we are certain that there will be a solid partnership between Outlaw and OCRS as we move forward together into the future.”
A couple of the competitors that will look to snag victory hardware Saturday night just happen to be brothers, fast siblings at that. Chance Morton, who was 14 years old last Saturday before having his 15th birthday this past Monday, surprised many by taking the win at the Caney Valley Speedway in only his sixth ever sprint car race. Older brother Kade produced the first shockwaves in the Morton camp and the sprint car world when he scored an upset win in April at Thunderbird Speedway. Kade is just 18 years old. Both brothers have plenty of micro sprint experience and their developmental skills have paid dividends in their early sprint car racing careers.
As has been the case since opening night, many eyes will be on the charming young lady from Lindsay Oklahoma, Miss Harli White. A three time feature winner in 2013, White’s success has drawn the attention of not only those in the region, but throughout the racing world as well. White just turned 18 herself in April and will be making her first ever appearance at OMP.
Another young talented lady that has been a crowd favorite since joining the OCRS tour in 2010 is the lovely Miss Shayla Waddell. “The Princess” is the senior citizen of the aforementioned trio having turned 20 in March. She has one OCRS triumph and two victory lane visits to the now closed State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City. Waddell will be in her familiar white and purple #88s sprinter.
White was caught up in a first lap incident last week, which sent her pitside with her worst finish of the year (17th) but she still leads the chase to the 2013 OCRS championship with 494 points. Sitting in second spot is Brian McClelland with 424 points as he moved up from third place. The “Caretaker”, Danny Smith is just four markers behind McClelland with Kade Morton next at 391 points. After missing the Caney Valley event, Jeremy Allen falls from second to fifth with 354 points.
